Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.”  Listen to the continuation of Romans chapter 3, so that you could understand that there was a conflict in Israel.  Since some believed that they were righteous and did not need Christ or that they were already being forgiven by God.  Finally you will realize at the end that by teaching repentance what is being established is that we should be righteous sincerely and keep the laws.  Shalam! First we must come together to worship the most High on the New Moons.  Isaiah 66:23 “And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.” That consist of praying together and studying his word. Nehemiah 8:2 “And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month.” Here we read of all the people, men, women, and children coming together to  hear the law on the first day of the month (the new moon).  Nehemiah 8:3 “And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.”Verse 4: “And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose;….” Verse 5:“And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:” Verse 6: “And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground.” This explained what the worship of the most High consist of to Observe any new moons. Remember that this is a day of gladness as well.  See, Numbers 10:10.  We could enjoy ourselves yet we cannot forget the laws of the most High in doing so.  Amos 8:5 “Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?” The wicked of our people in the past wanted for day to hurry up and finish.  Since they wanted to sell, in other words work; showing us that this is a day that we could not work, sell, buy, and partake in our own personal business. So after Ezra read to study in the law and prayed, the people were told to enjoy themselves righteously.  Nehemiah 8:10 “Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Verse 11: “So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved.” Verse 12: “And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.” Therefore tonight prepare yourselves a good meal, give gifts, play music, drink moderately, and have great mirth/joy.  In the world our people revel in their wickedness we shouldn’t be so.  You could enjoy yourself without having to be wicked.
